So I thought this morning I would give you all some food additions to my regular diet as well as some daily targets! First some foods that I’ve added since my last post on what I eat for the day. I have taken to cooking a large amount of brown rice on Monday then using it one cup at a time and storing the rest in Tupperware in the refrigerator. I’ve also added a lot of greens, collard greens, spinach and Kayle! My favorite thing these days is to make a large bowl of kale pesto that’s Kayla with garlic Parmesan cheese, almonds and olive oil. It has a tendency in the refrigerator to harden but I do 2 tablespoons and microwave it for 10 seconds it softens and I mix it into whatever food I’m looking for flavor! I have also added sweet potatoes at least 3 to 4 times a week. I just bake them for 45 minutes at 450° right on the oven rack after rubbing them with Olive oil, I then put Olive oil, salt and pepper on them and eat them accompanied with some sort of protein like chicken or fish! My daily targets remain about the same I try to get in 40 g of fiber every day and keep my daily calories under 2500 (varies depending on workouts that day could be as low as 1500 if no gym at all) But I will say my newest target for the day is trying to do 1 g of protein for every pound of body weight. So getting 170 g of protein a day is not easy I use a protein shake to make that happen I do a whey protein in the morning and I do a Casein protein shake in the evening before bed. Oh also I’ve added almond milk as my primary source of milk for shakes, cereals and such! More to come in later blogs about the different supplements I have been using thanks to GNC!! 43&FF
